Hussain Nawaz moves SC against JIT photo leak

ISLAMABAD – Hussain Nawaz, son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Wednesday moved Supreme Court seeking formation of a commission to investigate the leak of his picture sitting before the JIT team, probing the money trail of Sharif family.

The petition filed through Khawaja Haris stated that there is a need to investigate how a confidential picture was leaked. The counsel also accused JIT members of misuse of power.

Terming it against the ethics and legal code of conduct, Hussain Nawaz said JIT chief and its members are responsible for the photo leak.

The prime minister’s son also asked the court to bar the JIT from recording the proceedings in order to ensure that investigation is being held in independent manner.

A leaked photo that shows Prime Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz sitting in the Joint Investigation Team’s (JIT) interrogation room has gone viral on social media.

The photo that apparently dates back to May 28 shows Hussain Nawaz sitting on a chair undergoing an interrogation by JIT that includes panel of officers of the  Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), MI, SBP, SECP and NAB.

However, it is still a mystery who leaked the footage from inside the interrogation room as it makes the JIT susceptible to speculations over its credibility and arrangements of security. It is very likely that someone from inside the building leaked the footage as an outsider doesn’t have any access to such data amidst the strict security arrangements.
