ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) President Mamnoon Hussian has appointed Senator Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana as new Governor Punjab, local media reported on Thursday.
He belongs to southern Punjab and has been very active in politics. He remained associated with PML-N throughout his political career.
In a statement after getting new appointment, Rajwana said he will make all-out effort to serve the people of the province.
He assured the Prime Minister that he will come up to the expectations of the leadership.
The position became vacant after Chaudhry Sarwar resigned from the post on January 29 after blaming the PML-N government of bad governance. He then joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
