Anti-terrorism court issues warrants for 20 MQM leaders

KARACHI (Staff Report) – An anti-terrorism court issued non-bailable arrest warrants on Saturday for 20 Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders over their non-appearance in a hate speech case.

Only Wasim Akhtar, Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan, Rauf Siddiqui and Qamar appeared before the court on Saturday.

The ATC issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 20 other MQM leaders including Dr Farooq Sattar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Rehma Hashmi, Rashid Godil, Saif Yar Khan and others.

The court expressed displeasure over the investigation officer’s non-appearance and adjourned the hearing on request of the counsel for the accused till June 4.
