After receiving great criticism for urging all Pakistanis to take notice of littering, wife of former left-arm fast bowler and ex-Pakistani cricketer and captain Wasim Akram, Shaniera Akram fired back at a troll that pointed fingers at her, stating that Pakistan was her country too!
Shaniera Akram had shared a video of the beach in Karachi, urging people to shed the habit of littering. She took to the micro blogging platform Twitter, to write: “Let’s stop thinking we are separate provinces & start acting as one whole united country.”
I call on Pakistan. This is not a Karachi problem. Lets stop thinking we are separate provinces & start acting as one whole united country pic.twitter.com/ry2bA8z3TP

She followed up her message with another tweet, urging people to unite together to handle this crisis, saying ‘this has gone too far.’Â Her motivations didn’t seem to settle well with a follower on Twitter, who took the opportunity to slam her for lecturing Pakistanis.
“Wow @iamShaniera you are so good at lecturing us Pakistanis-No doubt before marrying you must be teaching sociology to PhD students,” tweeted a user named, Kiran Ahmed.
Shaniera Akram left no stone unturned and fired back at the troll, stating that she wasn’t aware one needed a Ph.D. degree to care about Pakistan.
I didn’t know I needed a PhD to care for our country?? And before you separate me from “Pakistanis” please remember this is my country too https://t.co/EK2CL04sHq

Shaniera’s tweet went viral, was liked more than 3,500 times on Twitter and retweeted 960 times.
She took to Twitter again a day later to express her gratitude towards Pakistanis who had not discriminated against her and treated her as one of their own.
The love everyone has shown me in Pakistan is just overwhelming. From my heart, Thank you for including me in this large wonderful family?
