PTI govt shuffles IGPs of three provinces

ISLAMABAD – The Inspector General of Police (IGP) in three provinces — Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) — have been shuffled, stated an official notification on Friday.

The notification said that Salahuddin Mehsood, presently posted as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD), has been made Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP while Kaleem Imam has been made police chief in Sindh.

The third shuffling was of grade-21 officer Mohammad Tahir, who has been made the Punjab IGP. Tahir has also served as the additional IG CTD Punjab, RPO Bahawalpur, DIG Elite Police Force Punjab, RPO Gujranwala region, additional IG welfare and finance at CPO office. He was appointed KP IGP during 2018 elections.

Currently serving Sindh IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi has been directed to report to the establishment division after the issuance of the notification.

All of the three newly appointed officers were posted to their previous positions on June 13 this year by the caretaker government.

They have all been appointed in their own pay and scale to their new positions with immediate effect, according to the notices issued.
