263 ‘hardcore’ terrorists killed in operation Khyber-II, says ISPR

RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) – As many as 263 hardliner terrorists have been so far killed in operation Khyber-2, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif was told on Wednesday, 35 army personnel also embraced martyrdom.

The army chief reviewed the progress made during the ongoing military operation in Khyber Agency and visited the front-line troops busy in combats, according to the twitter feed of Director General ISPR Major-General Asim Saleem Bajwa.

1111He tweeted “the morale of soldiers in the battlefield is very high and COAS paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices of brave men directing them to continue the momentum of operation to take it to a logical conclusion”.

General Raheel Sharif, on the occasion, also thanked the tribal brethren for their support to evict the terrorists from their areas to restore the peace and prosperity. He promised to not allow the militants to return to these areas ever.

The nation highly values the contributions of armed forces and fully stands by them for the elimination of terrorism and restoration of ultimate peace countrywide, the army chief said.

DG ISPR said the stronghold of terrorists has been reduced and Pakistan army is quite close to the Afghanistan border where the noose is already tightened to ensure that none of them is allowed to escape.11111

Tirah valley, Khyber and the areas to Musatil Pass along with Afghanistan are in full control of armed forces whereas at least 392 IEDs were also neutralized by specialized Engineering Unit of Pakistan army, he said.
