PIA flight operation returning to normalcy, claims spokesman

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – PIA flight operations are fast returning to normalcy and the airlines has operated flights from Islamabad, Lahore and Gilgit, claimed spokesman Daniyal Gillani on Monday.

According to a statement, over a dozen domestic and international flights have been operated. These also included two Boeing 777 flights which carried more than 700 Umrah pilgrims from Jeddah to Islamabad. Another flight was operated from Islamabad to Dubai.

The spokesman said all the departments of PIA worked as a great team and made the flights possible.

He said PIA is doing its best to look after its passengers and feels profoundly sorry for the inconvenience caused to all the valued passengers due to illegal strike.

He claimed that PIA flight PK-740 carrying Umrah pilgrims has left Jeddah for Islamabad. The flight is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad at 09:40 a.m. Another flight PK-7334 carrying Umrah pilgrims is arriving in Islamabad at 10:15 a.m. from Jeddah, he added.

On the other Joint Action Committee (JAC) president Captain Sohail Baloch has claimed that PIA workers are still on strike and no decision has been made to return to offices so far.
