ISLAMABAD – Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, on Tuesday, showed his interest in exploring investment opportunities in the information technology sector of Pakistan.
Gates, in a letter, written to Prime Minister Imran Khan, has expressed his desire to make the huge investment in the information sector, reported ARY TV today.
The letter has sought approval from PM Khan for this purpose. Upon which, Imran Khan welcomed the good news and said that there were vast opportunities for investment in different sectors in the country, especially in IT for Microsoft.
The president Dr Christopher Elias, president of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, delivered the letter to the PM Khan, the TV report added.
The prime minister also thanked Bill Gates Foundation for assistance in the eradication of polio.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has expressed commitment to continue efforts for polio eradication and improvement of the health sector.
In December last year, PM Imran Khan and Bill Gates had a telephonic conversation during which the latter praised Pakistani leader for his efforts for eradication of polio.
