KARACHI (Web Desk) – Co-chairman, Pakistan People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari has directed Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to immediately authorize an extension to special policing powers vested in the paramilitary troops to fight terrorism.
According to reports former president of Pakistan, issued the aforementioned directives after talking to CM Qaim over the phone.
Latest reports have it that a notification with regard to extension of paramilitary troops powers have been issued by the Sindh government.
“Rangers additional powers have been extended for 30 days only,” the notification said.
The PPP led Sindh government was sitting on the fence on the matter until this eleventh hour development.
“The CM had a field day today. He held a number of meetings with the PPP leadership including party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Bilawal House hours before he received instructions from the party head.”
