Two civilians killed in Indian forces firing across LoC

RAWALPINDI – As the first death anniversary of Hizabul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani is being marked in Indian-occupied Kashmir today,  Indian army resorted to unprovoked firing in different areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir along Line of Control (LoC) leaving at least two dead and three injured.

According to the ISPR, the Indian forces used small arms and including  heavy weapons and mortars along LOC  in Chirikot and Satwal sector.

Pakistan Army troops effectively responded to Indian unprovoked firing. The ISPR reported that two individuals, including a girl, embraced martyrdom and three citizens were injured.

On the other hand, Dawn News quoting local administration has claimed that three civilians were killed in heavy firing and shelling by Indian troops in different parts of Abbaspur and Hajira sectors of Poonch district since 5:30am in the morning.

The first death anniversary of the Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani is being observed in both parts of Kashmir today (Saturday).

The situation of the restive region is already tense as scores of Kashmiris have planned rallies to pay homage to their leader who became a symbol of resistance in the face of brutality.

He was martyred by Indian forces in southern Kashmir on July 8 last year.
