PTI candidate booked for plotting Bannu blast to target MMA leader

BANNU – Police have registered a case against a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for plotting the recent bomb blast in Bannu to target the rival party’s leader, local media reported.

At least seven people including the candidate of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Sherin Malik, were injured when his convoy came under bomb attack on Saturday.

According to police, the MMA’s candidate from the PK-89 constituency, Sherin Malik was campaigning for elections, which are scheduled to be held on July 25, in Takhti Kheil area of Bannu when his cavalcade was targetted.

The FIR has been registered against PTI’s candidate Shah Muhammad Khan and his elder brother, Gul Baz Khan, on the complaint lodged by Sherin Malik under terrorism charges.

Shah Muhammad Khan is also a former provincial minister, while his elder brother is a district member.
