CM Punjab visits Lahore blast site, summons emergency meeting

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has called an emergency meeting with high police officials and Safe City authorities following the suicide blast outside Data Darbar shrine in Lahore

During the session, the CM was briefed on the terror attack in which at least eight people including three police officials were martyred on early Wednesday morning.

During the meeting, the CCTV footage of the suspected suicide bomber, who targeted the elite force vehicle, stationed outside the Data Darbar shrine was shared with the chief minister and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other investigation officials.

Earlier, the CM condemned the terror attack on the police and postponed his visit to Bhakkar. He said that terrorism cannot dampen the nation’s spirit.

At least five police officials are among the martyred with at least 25 people injured in the blast which targeted a Punjab Police van carrying the Elite Force of Punjab Police.

The Punjab CM also visited the blast site outside Data Darbar where CTD officials briefed him about the attack.
