Soldier martyred in unprovoked Indian firing at LOC

RAWALPINDI – A Pakistan Army soldier, Sepoy Zaheer Ahmed Thursday embraced martyrdom in Thub Sector of the Line of Control (LOC) due to Indian unprovoked firing, said a press release issued here by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The martyred soldier Sepoy Zaheer Ahmed belonged to Sultanpur village of Bhimber district. He is survived by a widow.

Pakistan Army troops “retaliated effectively and engaged [the] enemy’s posts involved in [the] unprovoked firing”, added ISPR.

On November 3, a woman was martyred in India’s unprovoked firing along the LoC. Munazza Bibi, 22, was killed by an Indian sniper in her home at Lawana Khetar village in Bhimbar Sector on Friday. She was the mother of a two-year-old child.

According to the foreign office, This year “the Indian forces carried out more than 2,312 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary, resulting in the deaths of 35 civilians, while injuring 135 others”. Apart from them, another 146 — 77 men and 69 women — have sustained injuries.
