Three-day anti-polio drive begins in selected areas of KP, FATA on Monday

LAHORE – A three-day anti-polio campaign begins in selected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA on Monday.

According to Health Directorate, the campaign will be launched in six districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Lakki Marwat, D.I.Khan, Karak, Tank, Bannu and Hangu.

In FATA, the campaign will be launched in South Waziristan Agency and Frontier Regions.

During the campaign, more than one million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops.

Special security measures have been taken to avoid any untoward incident during the campaign.

In Balochistan, three-day anti-polio vaccination drive will also be started in ten districts including provincial metropolis, Quetta on Monday.

Provincial Coordinator Polio Emergency Operation Centre, Syed Faisal Ahmed told Radio Pakistan Quetta correspondent that the drive will be launched in Quetta, Barkhan, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Qilla Saifullah, Loralai, Zhob, Dera Bugti, Kohlu and Sherani districts.
