ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The government plans to announce an agriculture relief package to support the farmers following slump in commodity prices.
According to the officials of ministry of food and national security, the package may envisage cash subsidies and new support prices for major crops.
The relevant authorities are assessing the losses suffered by the farming community due to reduction in prices of crops and the assistance required for them to recover their cost of production.
The prices of rice and cotton have plunged by at least twenty five percent when compared with the last season.
