Yasir Shah drops to fifth slot as Anderson clinches top position in ICC Test rankings

DUBAI (Web Desk) – Pakistani star spinner Yasir Shah, who became number one after Pakistan’s victory at Lords, has now slumped to fifth in the ICC rankings for bowlers category.

The rankings came after Pakistan lost to England in the third test match at Edgbaston by 141 runs. The victory helped James Anderson to clinch top position in the rankings after he bagged four crucial wickets against Pakistan.

Followed by James Anderson are India’s Ravi Ashwin and Stuart Broad of England at second and third place respectively.

For Test team rankings, Australia is at number one followed by India and Pakistan at number two and three respectively.

Pakistani batsmen also failed to impress ICC with their performance. The 42-year-old Misbah-Ul-Haq managed to be at number eight in rankings.

Steve Smith of Australia topped the batsmen rankings followed by England’s Joe Root and Kane Williamson of New Zealand.
