Matric students killed in alleged police shootout in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD – Two matric students who were riding a bike were killed in an alleged police encounter in Faisalabad’s Millat Town on Wednesday night, sparking protest in the area.

According to the security officers, the victims, Arslan and Usman,  didn’t stop at the checkpoint when asked to do so and instead opened fire on the police.

In retaliatory firing, Arsalan lost his life on the spot while Usman – who happens to be a son of police constable –  was rushed to Allied Hospital but unfortunately, he succumbed to the wounds.

The bereaved families staged a protest against the police and blocked Allied Chowk for traffic, demanding the concerned authorities to take action in this regard.

They claimed that the police officers were drunk at the time of the mishap.

A case has been registered against the suspects for further investigation but the families of victims called upon the Chief Justice, Mian Saqib Nisar to take a suo moto notice over the incident.
