KARACHI (Staff Report) – Pakistan International Airlines workers have announced to end their strike.
Addressing a press conference, Joint Action Committee (JAC) Chairman Sohail Baloch announced the decision to end the strike. He also requested the PIA workers to resume flight operations nationwide.
Sohail Baloch said that the AJC would meet Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore to resolve the issue.
According to sources, the joint action committee (JAC) and the government have been holding secret discussions and have agreed that first the strike will be called off and then flight operations will be resumed after which discussions will be held.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had ruled out the possibility of talks with striking workers of the national air carrier until they return to work.
