KARACHI – At his funeral today, the late great philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi was honored by the government with a 19-gun salute, soon after his funeral prayers were concluded at the National Stadium.

Security for the thousands of people in attendance was provided by the Army, Rangers and other law enforcement agencies.
Abdul Sattar Edhi breathed his last at a hospital in the metropolitan city of Karachi late on Friday, after battling with a protracted illness.
After his official funeral ceremony was concluded, the renowned humanitarian’s coffin was moved to Edhi Village in Karachi for burial.
