We are committed to ensuring India s inclusion in NSG: US Ambassador

WASHINGTON (News Desk) – US ambassador to India Richard Verma has stated that Modi’s latest visit to the White House was of great importance and had paved the way for its inclusion in a number of important international export control forums.

Talking to Asia News International, Verma said that the United States had invested considerable time in the discussion on India’s inclusion in the Nuclear Suppliers Group and was committed to ensuring India’s membership in the forum.

Verma said that the Missile Technology Control Regime had also accepted India’s request for membership after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent meeting with US President Barack Obama, in which they discussed matters such as civilian nuclear collaboration for defense, and the production of clean energy.

The ambassador also promised that the United States would take every required measure to ensure India’s inclusion in all the four key trade control forums including the NSG.
