ISLAMABAD – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Thursday that the constitutional amendment bill for the establishment of military courts will be presented in the National Assembly on Friday (tomorrow).
Talking to newsmen after the meeting with parliamentary parties’ heads in Islamabad, he said it was decided that the government will lay the Constitutional Amendment Bill and Army Act Amendment Bill in the House.
The minister said all members of the parliament have the right to bring their amendments in the house for debate and discussion for legislation. He said a two-year consensus was evolved in the meeting for the military courts.
He said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has withdrawn from its point to appoint sessions or additional sessions judge in the military courts.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had demanded extension of one year for military courts after holding the all parties conference.
