Former chairman Balochistan Public Service Commission Ashraf Magsi arrested for corruption and nepotism

QUETTA (Web Desk) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) detained former Balochistan Public Services Commission chairman Ashraf Magsi and two other deputy directors over corruption and nepotism charges, local media reported on Monday.

According to reports, Magsi has been accused of illegally appointing several incompetent officials within government offices, including three of his children.

Deputy Director Examination Abdul Waheed and Deputy Director Secrecy Niaz Kakar have also been apprehended for facilitating his nepotism.

Last week, NAB arrested Balochistan Finance Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Raisani and seized an amount of over Rs. 650 million local and foreign currency in addition to gold jewellery weighing several kilogrammes from his residence.

Mushtaq Raisani, who was arrested on Friday for his involvement in massive financial embezzlement has started disclosing the names of his facilitators during his interrogation.
