FAISALABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former minister of state for power Abid Sher Ali’s mother died of cardiac arrest Monday night.
Zehra Begum was the wife of former mayor of Faisalabad and senior PML-N leader Chaudhry Sher Ali. She was also the first cousin of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Her funeral prayers likely to be offered after Zuhr prayers in Faisalabad. The former prime minister and other key leaders of the PML-N are expected to attend the last rituals of Zehra Begum.
Abid Sher Ali served as Minister of State for Power, in the Abbasi cabinet from August 2017 to May 2018.
Previously he served as the Minister of State for Water and Power from 2013 to 2017. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, from 2002 to May 2018.
