ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Tehran has emphatically declared and assured Islamabad that it will not allow the use of its soil against Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria said in an interview.
He said Pakistan and Iran have regular mechanism of negotiations to discuss different issues. The Spokesman said Iran is helping Pakistan to overcome energy shortage.
To a question, he said dialogue is the only way to resolve all outstanding issues with India. He said Pakistan has repeatedly expressed concern over India’s involvement in Balochistan.
The assertion comes after Iranian Ambassador in Pakistan, while commenting about media coverage after arrest of Indian agent who allegedly used Iranian visa to enter into Pakistan, said that some elements want to disrupt the improving ties between Islamabad and Tehran.
The matter related to arrest of RAW officer Kulbhushan Yadav was also taken up in the recent meeting between Pak-Iran Interior Ministers, at which Iranian Home Minister asked Nisar Ali Khan to send an official reference to Tehran in this regard.
At which, Pakistan forwarded a formal reference to Iran requesting an assistance in investigation of RAW’s -the Indian intelligence agency- interference in Pakistan using Iranian soil and presence of Indian spies at Chabahar port.
