US approves to sell 1.15 billion weapons to Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON (News Desk) – The United States State Department has formally approved to sell weaponry worth about $1.15 billion to Saudi Arabia.

According to media reports, the equipment approved under the deal included more than 130 Abrams battle tanks, 20 armoured recovery vehicles and all related technical support.

The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said the implementation of the weapons deal will be helpful to further strengthen the security of Saudi Arabia.

The approval for land force equipment comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is leading a military coalition in support of Yemeni forces.
