RIO DE JANEIRO (Web Desk) – Rio Olympics so far is wading through confusions and controversies and something strange happened yesterday as well when a pool designated for 10m synchronized swimming turned green and interestingly no one knew why that happened.
After looking like a normal pool through two days of competition, the diving pool at Maria Lenk Aquatics Center in Rio turned green but the competitions went uninterrupted as per schedule.

Surprisingly, the swimming pool adjacent to the diving well that was serving as an additional warm-up pool remained pristine blue.
The strange shift in color raised eyebrows of athletes and observers around but the organizers looked satisfied and confirmed that the water was safe for divers.
An official statement, reportedly, was also issued to shrug off the criticism citing the green colored pool.
“A high-quality field of play is of the utmost importance to the Rio 2016 Committee. Water tests at Maria Lenk Aquatic Center’s diving pool found there is no risk to the athletes’ health. We are investigating what the cause was but are pleased the competition was completed successfully” the statement said.
Meanwhile, David Boudia, a U.S. men’s diver who won silver on Monday night quipped about the color shift.
