LAHORE (Staff Report) – The twitter accounts of Pakistan’s leading news channel Thursday morning tweeted “Geo News has decided to shutdown its operations all over Pakistan,” after they were apparently hacked, just a day after the twitter handle of senior journalist Hamid Mir was compromised and some inappropriate content was shared from the account.
A twitter user @mickyleakz has claimed to have hacked the official twitter accounts of Geo News (@geonews_urdu and @geonews_english) and another of Geo’s Director News Rana Jawad (@ranajawad).
Mickey Leakz, who has only one tweet on the timeline saying as “Trust no one, Hack everyone,” posted multiple tweets on all three hacked accounts to confirm that he is the one who has taken over the handles.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that news channels has neither confirmed the hack nor it has responded to any of the claims made by the hacker till the time of filing the news.
