ISLAMABAD (Staff Reporter) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday announced that the representatives of local body, who were elected in the 2nd phase of the elections will take oath on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the ECP, the local body representatives elected in the second round of the elections in Punjab and Sindh will take the oath on Thursday. It stated that the ECP will announce the schedule for the elections on the special seats after the oath-taking ceremony.
ECP further stated that the provincial government has to release the notification about the number of special seats in Sindh. The declaration said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) criticism of the ECP in this regard is thus unwarranted.
