PESHAWAR – Officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government have announced a contribution of their three-day salary to the fund for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.
According to Radio Pakistan, the fund for the construction of the dams has been established under the directive of Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar to overcome the shortage of water and power in the country.

However, the fund was not attracting donors, prompting the armed forces to contribute financially to tackle the ensuing water crisis.
The move was followed by the officers of KPK, who have now announced to sacrifice a significant portion of their remuneration for a national cause.
The fund launched by the Ministry of Finance last week got its first donation worth Rs 1 million from the chief justice, who bagged support from fellow Pakistanis to cater to the water crisis.
The bank account bearing account No.03-593-299999-001-4 and IBN No. PK06SBPP0035932999990014 was opened after the CJP was briefed about the worsening water crisis in the country which could only be capped by the construction of new dams.
FESCO officers to contribute salary
The officers and officials of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) have announced to contribute their salary in the construction of Bhasha and Mohmand dams.
FESCO spokesman Tahir Sheikh said here Monday that FESCO officers would deposit their three-day salary in the dams fund whereas FESCO officials will contribute their one-day salary for this purpose.
