LODHRAN – The son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) disqualified Jahangir Tareen, has announced he will not contest the upcoming general polls 2018.
In a video message, Ali Tareen said that he is not able to give time to the election campaign due to studies in a foreign country.

He also appealed the nation to cast vote for PTI candidate in Lodhran.
This February, former PTI secretary general Jahangir Tareen had pitched his son to contest the by-elections for the NA-154 constituency, following his disqualification for life owing to concealment of his offshore firm besides other charges.
However, Tareen junior could bag only 85,933 votes against Iqbal Shah of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who won the by-polls with 113,542 votes.

In last general elections, Jahangir Tareen had defeated his Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz rival Muhammad Siddique Khan Baloch in 2015 by securing 138719 votes.
