JACOBABAD – Police arrested three suspected terrorists involved in various bomb blasts, in addition to recovering explosives from their possession in Jacobabad late Tuesday, local media reported.
Under ongoing operation Raddul Fasaad, police along with intelligence officials carried out a raid near Taja Shakh on link road between Jacobabad and Osta Muhammad, Balochistan.
The officials apprehended three alleged terrorists and seized around 3 kilogram of explosives.
The arrested suspects reportedly admitted their involvement in a bomb blast on railway track near Noor Wah Pul on February 2, 2015 and another blast near District Prison Jacobabad, Geo news reported.
On February 22, Pakistan Army had launched ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ across the country to root out terrorism without any discrimination.
The countrywide military operation – ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’, or ‘Elimination of evils’ – had been launched days after a series of deadly militant attacks killed more than 115 people across Pakistan in just over a week, including civilians, policemen and soldiers.
At least 15 people were killed and 85 others wounded when a Jamaat-ul-Ahrar bomber hit a protest of chemists and pharmaceuticals manufacturers on Lahore’s Mall Road last Monday, February 13. At least six police officials were killed in the blast.
