Peshawar: Two Levies personnel injured in IED blast

SHABQADAR: At least two personnel of Levies force were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Bajaur Agency, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) on Monday.

The explosives planted by the roadside went off as the personnel patrolled Naik Banda Mamond area of the agency, political administration said. The two personnel were rushed to the agency headquarters in Khar where they were said to be stable.

Meanwhile, the forces started a search operation in the area to find the culprits behind the attack.

Roadside blasts are common in the war-torn province.Earlier on August 19, a security official was killed while a civilian was injured when an improvised explosive device went off at a water spring in Bajaur Agency.

Similarly, on August 9, roadside bomb blast killed two security personnel in the agency. The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had later claimed responsibility for the attack, Express Tribune reported.
