LAHORE – Legendary Singer Rahat Fateh Ali and famous producer Salman Ahmed have decided to establish a trust for artists who are need of financial assistance.
A local television channel reported that various eminent personalities from the entertainment industry will also be part of the network.
“It will be a self-help basis trust and we will not seek donations from anyone to help the deserving artists,” said Salman.
He added that artists, who are needy, aged or out of work will be the trust’s priority. The trust will work independently and approach all deserving artists themselves.
The Punjab government had also announced a similar project for the social welfare of the artists, but no practical steps have been taken for their well-being so far.
