LAHORE – A police van has killed a motorcyclist in Badami Bagh area of Lahore in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to media reports, the accident occurred near Lari Adda, where the police van rammed into the biker, identified as 22-year-old Shahryar Ali.
After the incident, the police officers in the police van escaped the area in such confusion that they left behind a government-issued rifle.
Angry heirs of the deceased, residents of the area staged a protest after the accident with the dead body on the road. The protesters burnt tyres and blocked the road and raised slogans against police.
After the protest against police failure and negligence started, a heavy contingent of personnel arrived in the area.
