ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan Friday ordered Prime Minister’s special adviser on aviation Shujaat Azeem to stop working while hearing multiple petitions that challenged his appointment.
The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali.
During the hearing, the government’s legal counsel requested the court to adjourn the hearing for two weeks, giving him the time to file reply in the case. At which the bench said that Shujaat Azeem would not be allowed to continue workin g as PM’s adviser in that case.
The lawyer told the bench that he would submit a details report in the court after consultation with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The court adjourned the hearing till second week of January.
