JALANDHAR (Staff Report) – A statue of renowned Punjabi poet Baba Najmi has been fixed in Jalandhar, India to pay rich tribute to him for being a sign of peace between two countries Pakistan and India.
Najmi originally lives in Karachi, Pakistan and is considered a matchless poet of Punjabi language which is equally known in the province Punjab which was divided among Pakistan and India in 1947.
He is admired by people on both sides of border.
His poetry is apparently a part of his quest to bring about change in the present unjust society to create an equitable world free of class distinction and exploitation is not confined to that city.
