One dead, three injured as private helicopter crashes in Mumbai suburb

MUMBAI – A joyride ended in tragedy when a private helicopter crashed in a residential colony in Mumbai, leaving one person dead and three others injured.

The helicopter had crashed around noon at Aarey colony area in Goregaon, a Mumbai suburb, the Times of India reported.

Rescuers and fire brigade immediately reached the scene and shifted the injured to nearby Seven Hills hospital. “One of them is in a critical condition,” doctors said.

The Robinson R44 Astro chopper belonged to Aman Aviation, which offers joy rides.

Apex aircraft investigation body, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), will probe the crash.
