PM Nawaz strongly condemns Istanbul terrorist attack

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Sunday strongly condemned terrorist attack in Istanbul, Turkey and expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives of civilians and police during the attack.

“The people and government of Pakistan are deeply saddened and stand in complete solidarity with the people and government of Turkey at this critical moment,” said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and for swift recovery of those injured during the terrorist attack. “Terrorism is a common threat and must be fought with collective efforts, Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the Prime Minister reiterated.

As many as 29 people were killed while another 160 were left injured as a car bomb followed by a suicide bomb targeted Istanbul city.

The huge explosions appeared to target police outside Besiktas soccer stadium in the capital after the match between two of Turkey’s top teams. All but two of those killed in the blasts were police officers.
