DUBAI – A court in United Arab Emirates has sentenced nine men, who include five Emiratis and four Pakistanis and are aged between 20 and 37, in connection with a robbery and brutal rape of a Pakistani woman at a house in Dubai last year.
The Dubai’s Court of First Instance on Monday handed each of the nine a three-year jail time while a 24-year-old Emirati man and a Pakistani runaway, each received a six-year imprisonment term for raping a Pakistani woman after barging into her house in Al Muraqqabat, the Khaleej Times reported.
The 34-year-old victim, who is working as an accountant, earlier told the court how the two men raped her at knifepoint and stole Dh15,970 in cash, two baby gold necklaces, and nine mobile phones belonging to her and eight other flat mates on May 6, last year.
