Emotional scenes as tortured child maid Tayyaba leaves her family for ‘new home’

ISLAMABAD – “I don’t want to live here. I want to go with my parents,” said Tayyaba, a poor child maid who was brutally beaten by her employers, at a government-run orphanage in capital Islamabad on Wednesday.

Following the orders of the apex court, Tayyaba was brought to Pakistan Sweet Homes on a temporary basis, days after she was recovered from the influential family in the capital city.

The 10-year-old’s ordeal brought tears to many people present at the orphanage. An emotional scene was witnessed at the time when the girl was separated from her father.

Zamurd Khan, the head of Sweet Homes, brought her to the orphanage where children gathered around her, but it is believed that Tayyaba would have difficulties adjusting there.
