Petrol pumps, schools, business centers shut down as MQM protest aganist raid

KARACHI (Web Desk) Petrol pumps and private schools in several areas of provincial capital have reportedly been shut down as MQM activists in large numbers protested against the Rangers raid on Nine Zero Wednesday morning.

According to local media reports, examinations in Karachi University have also been postponed as sense of fear gripped the entire city.

Besides, a rickshaw in Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, and a bus at Gulistan-i-Jauhar, set a alight. similarly, another rickshaw has also been torched in Karimabad locality.

Moreover, business centres and gas stations in Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Jamshoro and Mirpur Khas were closed.

Earlier, on Wednesday morning, a heavy contingent of Rangers raided Nine Zero, the headquarters of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Azizabad and number of party workers including Rabita Committee Amir Khan were detained.
