Infotainment channel A1TV to go on air this month in UK

LONDON – A good news for the Asian community in the UK and Europe as an independent British Pakistani infotainment channel in the local language is going to go on air later this month.

The channel christened as A1TV will be broadcast on Sky. The channel will broadcast 60-minute news bulletins every three hours starting at 06:00, followed by 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, 21:00 and midnight. As well as news shows, the channel has also lined-up a number of Hindi and Pakistani films.

“Dramas will air during primetime at 20:00 and 22:00. It will air entertainment content from Play Entertainment, which includes ‘Dil Jalda’, ‘Hansty Gaal’ and ‘Baby Ki Kahani’,” said Mubeen Rasheed, the founder of A1TV while talking to exclusively BizAsiaLive.com

“I am very excited to launch A1TV in the UK, to give British Pakistanis unrivalled news coverage from their native country. We also bring local community news across UK and Europe with one of the biggest correspondents network ever. We will mix all this up with our entertainment shows including popular fictions and films,” Rasheed expressed.

Mubeen Rasheed, who was the founder of the first British Asian Law Conference in 2015 in the UK, has been in the practical journalism for one and half decade.

He holds masters degrees in Social Sciences, M.A Urdu, History, Pak. Studies, Mass Communication and Political Science other than a regular LLB and DLL. During his career, he has authored four books choosing on the most spoken current affairs themes by winning remarkable feedback from retailers including a latest etched on your mind travelogue on Great Britain ‘ShakhsperekeDeissey’.

His expertise in both print and electronic media has helped him built the designation as Editor of a broadly circulated weekly newspaper of UK and Europe, ‘NaiBaat London’ and Bureau Chief of Neo TV UK &; Europe.

The young journalist has now set-up A1TV, which will focus primarily on British Asian news, with a set-up of four studios up and down the UK.

A1TV will be launched on March 23 on Sky channel 869.


Tests of A1TV can be viewed on the following parameters on Sky:

-> Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
-> Select System Setup
-> Select Add Channels
-> Enter frequency: 11.464 (H), FEC: 5/6, SR: 22000 / DVB-S / QPSK
-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight “54215″ service and press Yellow button
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
-> Click on “54215″ to view the channel
