Women banned to attend PTI rally in Bannu

BANNU (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is holding a political rally in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today, with only two women on stage besides Imran Khan and other party workers.

According to PTI office-bearers in Bannu, a large crowd is expected to gather at Jinnah Sports Complex where the rally will take place. The programme will commence at around 5 pm in the evening.

However, the women workers have been banned to attend the public gathering following the incidents of harassment of PTI women workers in Lahore and Peshawar.

“Khan will be arriving at the venue via helicopter. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak will also address the PTI supporters. The stage has been set; over 35,000 chairs have been placed”, he said.

Bannu is the stronghold of JUI-F leader Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.

PTI leader Humayun Khan has said that over 30,000 tribal people will also take part in the rally.

He said that this will give a befitting reply to Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and Akram Durrani, who have repeatedly challenged the PTI government in KP at various junctures.
