LHC okays Khawaja Ahmad Hassan s unopposed election in UC-107 Lahore

LAHORE (Staff Report) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday dismissed the petition challenging unopposed election of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) candidate Khawaja Ahmad Hassan as chairman in UC-107 Lahore.

Hassan is expected candidate of PML-N for the position of Lahore’s Lord Mayor.

Announcing the reserved verdict the LHC said that laws related to civil services are not applicable at those given honorary positions.

The petitioner had argued that Khawaja Ahmad Hassan remained serving as deputy chairman in Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and he cannot participate in politics up to a two years after quitting the office. He prayed the court to declared his unopposed election UC-107 Lahore as null and void.
