Hussain, Hassan Nawaz will not attend Kulsoom s funeral: report

LAHORE – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s two sons, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, will not come to attend burial ceremony of their mother Kulsoom Nawaz in Pakistan, a private news channel reported here on Tuesday.

According to details, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz are facing legal complications due to their cases in Pakistan.

Sources privy to the Sharif family said that Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz has decided not to attend the burial ceremony of their mother Kulsoom Nawaz.

In October 2017, an accountability court had declared Hussain and Hassan absconders over their perpetual absence from proceedings in offshore assets case.

A National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor had asked the court to initiate proceedings to declare the absconding accused proclaimed offenders and order attachment of their properties.

The prosecutor said Hussain and Hassan had failed to appear before the court despite issuance of non-bailable warrants for their arrest.

Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has passed away after a prolonged illness on Tuesday, confirmed President PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif.

Begum Kulsoom was under treatment at London’s Harley Street Clinic since June 2014.
