Ex-EOBI Chairman Zafar Gondal dismissed from service over corruption charges

ISLAMABAD – The Former Chairman Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) Zafar Gondal has been dismissed from service after the charges of corruption and misconduct were proved against him.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has approved the sacking of ex-EOBI chairman Zafar Gondal from service.

The PM spokesman said that Gondal was sacked on recommendation of departmental inquiry. Premier Abbasi reviewed the reports and ordered the dismissal of Gondal serving as a Grade-20 officer of the Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service, said a notification issued on Saturday.

The notification said, “The documentary evidence against Zafar Iqbal Gondal is so clear and compelling that the Inquiry Officer is completely justified in concluding that the charges against him stand fully proved.”

“Upon receiving the recommendations, the premier using his authority under the ambit of ‘Government Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules 1973’ concluded that Gondal is guilty, beyond reasonable doubt, of ‘corruption’, ‘misconduct’ and inefficiency,” it added

It is pertinent to mention here that sacked ex-Chairman EOBI Zafar Gondal is the brother of ex-Federal Minister Nazar Mohammad Gondal, who has recently joined Pakistan Tehreek Insaf after leaving Pakistan People’s Party.-Online
