GUJRANWALA – At least six people, including women and children, were killed in two separate incidents of roof collapse in rain-hit Gujranwala on Wednesday, local media reported.
In an incident, a roof of a house crashed on a family due to heavy rain near Awan Chowk in the city, leaving a woman and her two children dead under the debris. Her other child was wounded and was shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for treatment.
In another tragedy, rain brought down roof of a house in Arif Town killing a woman and her two children.
On the other hand, Met Office forecast heavy to light rain throughout the week in parts of country.
The rain was recorded at 138 millimetres in Gujrat, 106mm in Gujranwala and 113mm in Sialkot.
