ASF foils international drug smuggling bid, recovers 6 kg ice-packed heroin

LAHORE – The Airport Security Force (ASF) claimed to have foiled a major drug smuggling bid and recovered around six kilogrammes of ice-packed heroin during checking at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.

After a tip-off, the ASF personnel Monday conducted security checking off a couple and foiled their attempt to smuggle heroin to Saudi Arabia. The ASF personnel recovered six kilogrammes of ice-packed heroin from their passengers’ luggage.

The passengers were identified as Anwar and his wife, who were ready to board for a Jeddah flight to perform Umrah on a private airline.

The ASF have arrested alleged smugglers and later handed them over to Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF). The ANF personnel have started the investigation over the matter.-Online
