ISLAMABAD – As many as 100 candidates including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Faisal Vawda and PPP leader Hina Rabbani Khar have been declared bank defaulters by the State Bank of Pakistan as scrutiny of their nomination papers was being conducted.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has scrutinised more than 7,000 nomination papers out of 12,000 so far. It shared the details of the aspirants with the Federal Investigation Agency and State Bank of Pakistan. They found that 100 of the candidates are loan defaulters of different banks.

According to reports, scrutiny of nomination papers will continue till June 19. Later, the ECP will receive appeals against the papers until June 22. The decisions on the appeals will be taken on June 27.
Candidates can withdraw their candidature by June 28 and a final list will be issued on the same day. The ECP will allot election symbols to candidates on 29th.
