Pakistani school principal detained in Dhaka, denied consular access

DHAKA (Web Desk) – Police in Bangladesh have detained a Pakistani school principal for “unknown reasons”.

Sources said Yasmin, principal of the City School System in Dhaka, was arrested in a police raid on the school at the behest of country’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed.

Initially, the Bangladeshi police denied the raid and arrest; however, later on, officials confirmed the arrest saying Ms Yasmin was being held for interrogation and would be released soon.

Bangladeshi authorities have denied consular access to Ms Yasmin, Geo News reported on Thursday.
